Lleida, September 19, 2026
The Estrellas de Camerún Association participated this Saturday, September 19, in the 3rd edition of FES MÓN—Lleida’s Fair for Solidarity Organizations and NGOs—held at Plaça Sant Joan.Organized by the Lleida City Council’s Department of Cooperation (Paeria), the fair has established itself as an essential meeting point between the public and the nearly forty organizations and NGOs working daily in the city to promote solidarity, international cooperation, and the defense of human rights. The event ran from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, featuring activities for all ages. The fair provided a unique opportunity to showcase the work Estrellas de Camerún carries out in support of social projects led on the ground by its local counterpart, the Étoiles du Cameroun Association in Cameroon.
Throughout the day, Estrellas de Camerún members and volunteers staffed the booth to:
• explain social projects in Cameroon focused on education, health, and the empowerment of women and youth
• share testimonials and highlight the direct impact of initiatives driven by various contributions
• build synergies with other cooperation organizations in Lleida and raise public awareness about the reality in Cameroon
• invite new people to join as members, collaborators, or volunteers.
Solidarity-focused handicrafts with a taste of Cameroon
In addition to presenting the projects, the booth offered visitors a selection of handcrafted items brought from Cameroon, as well as other handmade creations crafted by Estrellas de Camerún members themselves. Each piece was prepared with dedication and care by our team over the course of several weeks. All proceeds from sales will go entirely toward funding the social projects supported in Cameroon. It was a way to bring a piece of Cameroonian culture to Lleida while simultaneously turning solidarity into tangible aid.
"FesMon is not just a fair; it is a space for weaving solidarity. Being there has allowed Lleida to see that local action can have a very real impact in Cameroon. Every person who visited the stand is a new star joining the cause," noted the team on site.
The Estrellas de Camerún Association wishes to thank the Lleida City Council for organizing this third edition, as well as everyone who stopped by to meet us—thank you for your interest, your willingness to listen, and your solidarity. And above all, a huge thank you to all the members of Estrellas de Camerún. Thank you for the time you have dedicated, for your commitment, for your presence at the fair, and for making it possible for this project to keep growing day by day. None of this would be possible without you.
We continue working together so that solidarity may shine without borders.
