Estrellas de Camerún brings the voices of neighborhood women to the Palau de Vidre

On October 16th, the association Estrellas de Camerún took part in the event "Women from neighborhoods uniting cultures" at the Palau de Vidre in Lleida.
"With the desire to learn about other realities that exist all around us, we invite you to this event." These words opened a gathering that proved to be much more than just a simple meeting. The event, held on Friday at the iconic Palau de Vidre, was part of the Congress of Women Who Move Cities, an initiative promoted by FAV Lleida, Dona Balàfia Associació, and Veïns del Món Solidaris.

Estrellas de Camerún joined this initiative with a clear objective: to give a voice to—and highlight the fundamental role of—migrant women and women from local neighborhoods in building a city that is more intercultural, fair, and cohesive. During the event, women from different neighborhoods, backgrounds, and life paths shared their experiences, challenges, and dreams. Discussions touched upon caregiving, work, integration, and the strength that emerges when women organize and take initiative. It was a space for listening, sisterhood, and mutual recognition—a space where every story served as a reminder that cultural diversity is a source of richness that unites rather than divides.

A musical conclusion
And, since there is no better universal language than music, the day ended on a festive, musical note. Songs, rhythms, and dance filled the Palau de Vidre, turning the conclusion of the event into a collective celebration that resonated with everyone present. It was an emotional finale, demonstrating that when cultures come together, they sound even better.

Estrellas de Camerún would like to thank all the women who participated, the organizing entities, and the audience who joined us. We will continue working on projects that bring cultures together.
